Rhamnetin 3-rhamnoside is a type of flavonoid that is found in fructus rhamni. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by increasing mitochondrial membrane potential and inhibiting the cycle analysis of cancer cells. Rhamnetin 3-rhamnoside also inhibits the expression of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in human carcinoma cells. The bioactive phenolic compound can be used as an ingredient in medicines, including anti-cancer drugs.
