Rinderine is a n-oxide that occurs in plants belonging to the family of Cynoglossaceae. It has been isolated from the rhizome of Heliotridine. The chemical structure of Rinderine is similar to that of intermedine, which has biological properties such as antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and hypotensive activities. Rinderine n-oxide is a retronecine ester with a dry weight of about 2%. The nmr spectroscopic data for this compound are available. A sample preparation protocol for this compound is also available. Chemical interactions between Rinderine and other compounds have been studied.
