Product Information

Name:
SB-756050
Description:

SB-756050 is a molecule that belongs to the class of analogs. It is a potent inhibitor of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity and glucose regulation in obese mice. SB-756050 is also associated with a paradigm shift in the understanding of how insulin resistance is induced by obesity. This compound inhibits growth factors that are involved in hepatic steatosis, such as hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). SB-756050 reduces cell size, prevents lipid accumulation and reduces the release of hydrochloric acid into the stomach.
SB-756050 has been shown to reduce liver fat content, total cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels in mice with diet-induced obesity. SB-756050 also improves glucose tolerance by increasing insulin sensitivity in these animals.
