Tuberosin is a bioactive phytochemical that is found in the root of P. candollei and the tuberous roots of P. lobata. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and chemopreventive properties and can be used as a natural drug to treat cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity. Tuberosin inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species by inhibiting receptor activity and regulating NF-κB signaling pathway expression. It also prevents the proliferation of cancer cells by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting DNA synthesis, thus providing protection against tumor cells.
