4-[[5-Bromo-4-[(Z)-(2,4-dioxo-3-phenacyl-1,3-thiazolidin-5-ylidene)methyl]-2-ethoxyphenoxy]methyl]benzoic acid is a synthetic inhibitor of the enzyme peptidylprolyl isomerase A. It has been used in cell biology and pharmacology research to study protein interactions and ion channel activation. 4-[(Z)-(2,4-Dioxo-3-phenacyl thiazolidin)-5ylidene]methyl benzoic acid inhibits the activity of bacterial serine proteases such as subtilisin Carlsberg, animal pancreatic elastase, and human cathepsin K. This compound also has been used to study receptor binding and antibody production.
