Product Information
USP7 is a ubiquitin ligase involved in the proteasomal degradation of p53 and other tumor suppressor proteins. USP7 inhibition has been shown to promote axonal growth and prevent apoptosis, both of which are important for neuronal function. It also has been shown to be involved in the regulation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), which plays a key role in many cancers. USP7 inhibitors have been found to reduce tumor size and inhibit cancer cell growth in colorectal adenocarcinoma, prostate cancer cells, and k562 cells. The sesquiterpene lactone polymerase chain inhibitor has been shown to inhibit HIV infection by preventing viral RNA synthesis. USP7 inhibitors may also be useful for treating Alzheimer's disease due to its ability to protect neurons from oxidative stress by inhibiting mitochondrial membrane potential.
