Broussonin B is a natural product extracted from the dried root of Broussonetia papyrifera. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine as an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic agent. Broussonin B is soluble in water and can be dissolved in ethanol, acetone, chloroform, ether, ethyl acetate and other organic solvents. This compound is a secondary metabolite of plants and it belongs to the group of phytochemicals. It has been found to have bioactive properties that may be due to its ability to inhibit phospholipase A2 (PLA2) activity.
