Description:(+)-N 0425 is a potent and selective inhibitor of dopamine uptake. It has been shown to inhibit the uptake of dopamine, noradrenaline, and serotonin in rat striatal tissue. Chronic treatment with (+)-N 0425 was found to induce a long-term increase in extracellular dopamine levels that was more pronounced than the acute effect. This increase in extracellular dopamine may be due to an inhibition of dopamine uptake or release. The profile of (+)-N 0425 suggests that it selectively inhibits the uptake of dopamine and serotonin but not noradrenaline in rat striatal tissue. It also does not affect baseline blood pressure levels or the response to stressors.!--
