Description:Inolitazone is a potent and selective activator of the IKr potassium channel. It has an IC50 of 2.6 nM in whole-cell patch-clamp recordings on rat brain ventricular myocytes and a Ki of 0.5 nM in binding assays with purified IKr receptor protein. Inolitazone binds to the activation site of the IKr channel, inducing hyperpolarization by increasing K+ efflux from the cell.
