BAY 57-1293 is a potent, selective and reversible inhibitor of the potassium channel KCNQ2/3 that blocks voltage-gated potassium channels. BAY 57-1293 has been shown to inhibit peptide binding to the receptor site on KCNQ2/3 and is an activator of the calcium-activated potassium channel. This drug has been used as a research tool in cell biology and pharmacology studies.
