KAT681 is a peptide that is an activator of the potassium ion channel Kv1.2 and an inhibitor of the calcium ion channel Cav1.2. It has been shown to inhibit the ability to induce pain in animal models, suggesting it may be a potential therapeutic agent for treatment of chronic pain. KAT681 has also been shown to inhibit protein interactions with receptors and ligands, as well as act as a pharmacological tool for studying protein interactions in cell biology studies.
