Product Information

Name:
Millewanin G
Description:

Millewanin G is a prenyl flavonoid derivative with antioxidant effects. It has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against the cellular activities of estrogen and anti-estrogenic effects in diabetic patients. Millewanin G has also been shown to reduce insulin resistance in mice, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species. Millewanin G is derived from the plant Ampelopsis japonica and has strong inhibitory activity against breast cancer cells and human leukemia cells. The molecular docking analysis showed that millewanin G binds to the protein insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1) and inhibits its phosphorylation by inhibiting the hydrogen bond between IRS-1 and insulin receptor (IR).
