<p>Valnemulin Hydrochloride is a fatty acid that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It has been shown to have anti-cancer effects in some animal models. Valnemulin hydrochloride inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It is not active against bacterial spores and mycobacteria. Valnemulin hydrochloride binds to the bacterial cell membrane and causes increased permeability, leading to cell death. The bioavailability of valnemulin hydrochloride is low due to its high lipophilicity, which can be improved by complexation with sodium citrate or sodium carbonate.
