Alpha-(4-fluorophenyl)-4-(5-fluoro-2-pyrimidinyl)-1-piperazine butanol (FPPBP) is a ligand that binds to the dopamine D2 receptor and has been shown to have therapeutic effects in Parkinson's disease. FPPBP is a synthetic compound that is being investigated as a potential treatment for this disease. It also has antipsychotic properties and can be used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia. Alpha-(4-fluorophenyl)-4-(5-fluoro-2-pyrimidinyl)-1-piperazine butanol has been shown to inhibit the activity of hydroxylase, which converts dopamine into norepinephrine, and thus may contribute to its antipsychotic properties.
