<p>1-Iodododecane is a hydrophobic molecule that has been shown to have biological properties in the treatment of bowel disease. 1-Iodododecane reacts with halides, such as chloride and bromide ions, to form an organoiodine compound. This organoiodine compound may react with the hydroxyl group on the surface of the bacteria to form a reactive intermediate that can cause oxidative damage.<br>br&gt;br&gt;<br>1-Iodododecane has been shown to inhibit inflammatory bowel disease by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress in animal models. The mechanism of action for this drug is not yet fully understood, but it may work by interfering with the function of immune cells or altering bacterial populations in the gut. 1-Iodododecane also interacts with iron compounds and may be used as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of the human gastrointestinal tract or other organs.</p>
