It is synthesized by the ring-opening of oxetanes with amines. 3-Aminooxetane has pharmacokinetic properties that may be due to its physicochemical properties and its structural similarity to amides, nitro groups, and isosteres. The carbocationic nature of the molecule may also contribute to its pharmacokinetics. This compound has shown efficacy in treating bacterial infections caused by methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
