Description:NotI is an endonuclease enzyme isolated from strains of Nocardia otitidis-caviarum and is part of the restriction modification system.In molecular biology it is used as a restriction enzyme. It creates sticky ends with a 3' overhang. The nucleic acid sequence where the enzyme cuts is GCGGCCGC, which, as the complementary sequence is CGCCGGCG, has rotational symmetry.
