It exerts its antiparasitic effects by inducing programmed cell death, which includes cytosolic calcium accumulation, mitochondrial membrane potential collapse, ATP synthesis inhibition, ROS accumulation, and chromatin condensation. Antiparasitic agent-26 can be utilized in research on primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM).
