Description:3-Keto Sphinganine (d12:0) is a short-chain analog of 3-keto sphinganine (d18:0), which typically possesses a C18 chain length. The latter is a lyso-sphingolipid synthesized through the condensation of L-serine and palmitoyl-CoA mediated by the enzyme serine palmitoyl transferase (SPT).
