• Description: Applications 1-(Benzo[b]thien-2-yl)ethanol is an intermediate used to prepare amino sugar and related sugar derivatives of indolopyrrolocarbazoles as antitumors. It is also an impurity of Zileuton (Z420000), an inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase, the initial enzyme in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes from Arachidonic Acid.
