Applications 3-(Bromomethyl)-2-cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluorophenyl)quinoline is used to prepare artificial HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors. It is also used to synthesize pitavastatin calcium via stereoselective Wittig olefination reaction.
