Applications 1,4-Diaminobutane is known to affect the development of plant root systems, it’s inhibition resulting in a more dominant ‘tap’ root system. 1,4-Diaminobutane is an amino acid degradation product. Used in the preparation of hexahydropyrimidines as novel hepatitis C virus inhibitors. Also a reagent in the synthesis of antibacterial castor oil-based polyurethane membranes.
