Eprosartan

<p>Eprosartan is a selective AT1 receptor blocker with IC50s of 9.2 nM (rat) and 3.9 nM (human), used for hypertension.</p>

<p>Eprosartan is a drug which is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB). It blocks the binding of angiotensin II to its receptors and inhibits the action of this hormone on blood vessels, kidneys and heart. Eprosartan also has vasodilating effects. Eprosartan has been shown to be effective in lowering blood pressure and preventing congestive heart failure in experimental models. This drug has been shown to have no significant effect on cardiac function or blood pressure when taken with losartan, a drug that also blocks the angiotensin II receptor.</p>
