Applications 2-Ethyl-2-hexenol is an intermediate in the synthesis of 2-(Chloromethyl)-1-butene (C368570). 2-(Chloromethyl)-1-butene is a useful reagent for palladium(II)-catalyzed intramolecular tandem aminoalkylation. It can also be used to prepare (±)-Stemonamine and (±)-Cephalotaxine.
