Applications 4-[2-[[(3-Ethyl-2,5-dihydro-4-methyl-2-oxo-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)carbonyl]amino]ethyl]benzenesulfonyl Chloride is an intermediate in the synthesis of 4-[2-[(3-Ethyl-4-methyl-2-oxo-3-pyrrolin-1-yl)carboxamido]ethyl]benzenesulfonamide (E925045), which is an intermediate for the preparation of Glimepiride. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea hypoglycemic agent, used as an antidiabetic.
