Applications Hypromellose is a thickener for aqueous and non-aqueous systems, clear films with grease resistance, binders, lubricants, steric stabilizer and water retention aid. As a food additive, hypromellose is an emulsifier, thickening and suspending agent, and an alternative to animal gelatin.
