Applications Indane is a phenyl-containing compound that naturally occurs in the rhyzomes of Acorus calamus, a plant that is commonly used as an herbal remedy for gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea. Indane is also a pollutant commonly found in lakes and streams.
