Applications Squalene 2,3:22,23-Dioxide is formed from the epoxidation of 2,3-oxidosqualene, by squalene epoxidase. Squalene 2,3:22,23-Dioxide is accumulated intracellularly during the inhibition of cholesterol biosynthesis in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
