The reaction is stereoselective and proceeds with high yield. 4-Acetamidophenyl boronic acid has also been used to synthesize amides and azobenzenes, which can be substituted with chloride or uv irradiation to give chloroazobenzene or benzotriazole respectively. 4-Acetamidophenyl boronic acid has shown potent inhibition against the enzyme cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2) and acidic hydrolysis.
