    CAS:

    SGI-1027 is a methyltransferase inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit the expression of cancer genes in vitro. It also inhibits tumor growth in experimental models, and has significant cytotoxicity against cervical cancer cells. SGI-1027 inhibits the function of toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) by inhibiting the binding of TLR9 to its ligands, which are found on bacteria and viruses. This inhibition prevents TLR9 from stimulating dendritic cells and macrophages to produce proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, TNFα, IL-6, and IL-12. SGI-1027 also reduces the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are implicated in many diseases including autoimmune diseases.
