CAS 103-90-2
:Acetaminophen
Description:
Acetaminophen, also known as paracetamol, is a widely used analgesic and antipyretic medication. Its chemical formula is C8H9NO2, and it features a phenolic hydroxyl group and an amide functional group, which contribute to its therapeutic properties. Acetaminophen is typically administered orally, but it can also be given intravenously or rectally. It is known for its ability to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever, making it a common choice for treating headaches, muscle aches, arthritis, and colds. Unlike nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), acetaminophen does not possess significant anti-inflammatory properties. Its mechanism of action is believed to involve the inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes, particularly in the brain, leading to decreased production of prostaglandins. While generally considered safe when used as directed, excessive doses can lead to severe liver damage. Acetaminophen is often included in combination medications and is available over-the-counter in various formulations, including tablets, capsules, and liquid forms.

CAS:
4-Acetamidophenol (4AP) is a natural compound that has been shown to inhibit nuclear DNA damage in vitro. It also has anti-inflammatory activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase-1 and cyclooxygenase-2 enzymes. 4AP is synthesized by the condensation of acetaminophen with formaldehyde and sodium hydroxide. This drug binds to the signal peptide in the Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) protein, preventing TLR2 from activating inflammatory pathways. The matrix effect of 4AP is thought to play a role in its mechanism of action, as well as its biocompatibility with tissues.
The analytical method used for this product is high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection at 280 nm.
Formula:C8H9NO2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:151.16 g/mol
