The radical formed from this cation has been shown to be stable at low temperatures and in the presence of perchlorates. N-(4-Methylcyclohexyl)acetamide has been found to react with x-rays, causing a change in its spectrum. It has also been shown to form a perchlorate by reacting with chlorine gas.
