    <p>3,6-Dihydroxyflavone is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anticancer properties. 3,6-Dihydroxyflavone can inhibit the enzyme activities of 5-lipoxygenase, cyclooxygenase and phospholipase A2 in the human serum. This compound also inhibits the production of nitric oxide by inhibiting the activation of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). 3,6-Dihydroxyflavone can reduce mitochondrial membrane potential and induce apoptosis in HL60 cells. It also induces cell death in breast cancer cells by inhibiting protein synthesis and inducing caspase-dependent apoptosis.</p>
