It inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by blocking cyclooxygenase (COX) activity and preventing the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins, which are important mediators of inflammation. Sr-3306 also inhibits COX-2 expression through a variety of mechanisms, including inhibition of NF-κB signaling pathways and activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ).
