The drug has also been shown to be an excellent substrate for dipeptidyl peptidase, an enzyme involved in the degradation of dipeptides. (R)-3-Fluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride has not yet been tested as an inhibitor of peptidases other than dipeptidyl peptidase.
