:Metaflumizone
Description:
Metaflumizone is a chemical compound primarily used as an insecticide, particularly effective against a variety of pests in agricultural settings. It belongs to the class of compounds known as phenylpyrazoles, which function by disrupting the nervous system of insects. Metaflumizone operates through a unique mechanism of action, inhibiting the activity of certain ion channels, leading to paralysis and eventual death of the target pests. This compound is characterized by its relatively low toxicity to non-target organisms, including mammals, making it a more environmentally friendly option compared to some traditional insecticides. It is typically formulated for use in crop protection and is applied in various agricultural practices. Additionally, metaflumizone is known for its residual activity, providing prolonged protection against pest infestations. Its efficacy and safety profile have made it a valuable tool in integrated pest management strategies. As with all pesticides, proper handling and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to minimize risks to human health and the environment.

CAS:
Metaflumizone is a new insecticide that has been shown to have a synergic effect with other insecticides such as pyrethroids. It blocks the ryanodine receptor, leading to uncontrolled release of calcium from the sarcoplasmic reticulum in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells. Metaflumizone also has toxicological properties, including long-term toxicity and toxicity studies. The analytical method for metaflumizone is gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Metaflumizone is used as an insecticide against a wide range of insects, including ants, cockroaches, fleas, flies, mosquitoes, moths and ticks. However it has been shown to be ineffective against some insects such as termites and leafhoppers. Metaflumizone also has high resistance in insects such as houseflies and mosquitoes due to its slow degradation.
Formula:C24H16F6N4O2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:506.4 g/molHydrazinecarboxamide, 2-[2-(4-cyanophenyl)-1-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethylidene]-N-[4-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl]-
