It binds to the ribosome, inhibiting translation of mRNA into protein. VLX1570 may also function as an apoptosis-inducing factor by binding to mitochondrial functions. VLX1570 has been shown to have biological properties in myeloma cell lines and prostate cancer cells, as well as in biological samples from humans with granulosa cell tumors or prostate cancer cells.
