:Chlorcyclizine hydrochloride
Description:
Chlorcyclizine hydrochloride is an antihistamine belonging to the diphenylmethane class, primarily used for its anti-allergic properties. It is characterized by its ability to block H1 histamine receptors, thereby alleviating symptoms associated with allergic reactions, such as hay fever and urticaria. The compound appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder and is soluble in water, making it suitable for various pharmaceutical formulations. Chlorcyclizine hydrochloride exhibits a relatively long duration of action, which contributes to its effectiveness in managing allergic symptoms. Additionally, it may have sedative effects, a common trait among first-generation antihistamines, which can lead to drowsiness in some individuals. The substance is typically administered orally and is available in various dosage forms, including tablets and syrups. As with any medication, it is essential to consider potential side effects, such as dry mouth, dizziness, and gastrointestinal disturbances, and to use it under medical supervision to ensure safety and efficacy.

CAS:Controlled Product
Chlorcyclizine hydrochloride is a potent inhibitor of the growth factor-β1 receptor. It also has antimicrobial activity and can be used as an antiseptic, especially for the treatment of eye infections. Chlorcyclizine hydrochloride is a potent inducer of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) which is responsible for innate immunity against bacteria and fungi. This drug also inhibits propranolol hydrochloride binding to the β2-adrenergic receptor, which may lead to cardiotoxicity in some patients. The compound has shown significant cytotoxicity on liver cells in vitro, but not on other cell lines; this toxicity may be due to its ability to react with iodides in solution, forming reactive intermediates that cause cellular damage.
Formula:C18H22Cl2N2Purity:Min. 95 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:337.29 g/molChlor Cyclizine-d4 Dihydrochloride
