CAS:Controlled ProductChlorcyclizine hydrochloride is a potent inhibitor of the growth factor-β1 receptor. It also has antimicrobial activity and can be used as an antiseptic, especially for the treatment of eye infections. Chlorcyclizine hydrochloride is a potent inducer of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) which is responsible for innate immunity against bacteria and fungi. This drug also inhibits propranolol hydrochloride binding to the β2-adrenergic receptor, which may lead to cardiotoxicity in some patients. The compound has shown significant cytotoxicity on liver cells in vitro, but not on other cell lines; this toxicity may be due to its ability to react with iodides in solution, forming reactive intermediates that cause cellular damage.
