CAS:2-Pyridinecarboxamide is a coordination complex that is used as an intermediate in the wastewater treatment process. It binds to copper chloride and picolinic acid, which are also used in the wastewater treatment process. 2-Pyridinecarboxamide has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties against autoimmune diseases and skin cancer. The compound was also shown to have anticancer properties against solid tumours, with preliminary evidence suggesting that it may be effective against metastatic melanoma. The mechanism of action of 2-pyridinecarboxamide involves intramolecular hydrogen bonding and steric interactions with picolinamide, leading to its anticancer effects.
