    <p>17-(3-Pyridyl)androsta-5,16-dien-3-one is a synthetic steroid that has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of androgens in prostate cancer cells. It acts by competitive inhibition of 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, which is an enzyme that converts progesterone into 17α, 20α-dihydroprogesterone. This drug also inhibits the production of testosterone by binding to cytochromes P450 and prevents its conversion into dihydrotestosterone.
