    BA 1 is a novel antimicrobial agent that has potent activity against human pathogens. The molecular docking analysis of BA 1 with the target protein, human cytosolic Ca2+, reveals that it binds to the hydrophobic pocket in the active site, leading to conformational changes and inhibition of Ca2+-dependent processes. BA 1 also suppresses steatosis in mice by inhibiting lipid accumulation and suppressing lipogenesis. BA 1 is stable in plasma and has a phase transition temperature of around 50 °C, which is higher than those of other antibiotics. It displays ferroelectric properties, making it suitable for use as an antimicrobial agent.
