CAS:Controlled ProductSalbutamol is a bronchodilator with selective beta-2 receptor activity. It is used to prevent and treat asthma and other respiratory disorders. Salbutamol has been shown to improve lung function in children with asthma and may be effective in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The cardiac effects of salbutamol are related to its ability to increase blood flow through the lungs, which reduces the workload of the heart. Salbutamol also has an effect on maternal blood flow and may have some anti-inflammatory properties. Salbutamol has been shown to inhibit the transfection of DNA into cells by benzalkonium chloride, a chemical that is commonly used as a preservative in laboratory experiments. Salbutamol also inhibits eosinophil cationic protein production, which may be due to its ability to inhibit transcriptional activation of this protein or its ability to alter gene expression at post-transcriptional levels.

CAS:Controlled Product(±)-Salbutamol is a racemic mixture of a beta-2 adrenergic agonist, which is synthetically derived. This compound functions primarily by selectively stimulating beta-2 adrenergic receptors, which are predominantly located on the smooth muscle cells lining the airways. The activation of these receptors leads to the relaxation of bronchial muscle tissue, resulting in bronchodilation and improved airflow.Formula:C13H21NO3Molecular weight:239.31 g/mol
