Isopentenyl pyrophosphate trilithium is a synthetic adjuvant that is used in vaccines to boost the immune response. It is a component of the experimental vaccine AQX-1, which is designed to prevent bacterial infections in high-risk populations. Isopentenyl pyrophosphate trilithium has been shown to be an effective adjuvant for the production of antibodies against protein antigens as well as short DNA fragments. This compound also enhances cellular immune responses against drug-resistant bacteria and may be used as a comparator for new antibiotics.
