CAS:Racemic 3-chloro-1-phenylpropanol is an antidepressant drug that belongs to the class of phenylpropanoids. Racemic 3-chloro-1-phenylpropanol is a chiral compound with two enantiomers, which can be differentiated by their optical rotation or by their boiling point. Racemic 3-chloro-1-phenylpropanol has been synthesized from fatty acids and reacts with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide at room temperature. The optimum concentration for racemic 3-chloro-1-phenylpropanol isomers was found to be 0.9 M, while the reaction solution should be cooled in order to prevent decomposition of the product. Racemic 3-chloro-1-phenylpropanol has been shown to have antidepressant activity in animal tests and can be used in the treatment of depression. Racemic 3 - chloro - 1 - phenylpropan
