ML390 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the enzyme 3-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (3PGDH). This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of 3-phosphoglycerate to glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate, which is an important step in the synthesis of pyrimidine nucleotides.
