Silver sulfadiazine is a topical antibiotic that is used to prevent and treat burns. It has been shown to have antibacterial efficacy against antibiotic-resistant strains, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Silver sulfadiazine inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the bacterial cell wall and altering its permeability.
