CAS:Methyl 3-oxopentanoate, also known as MEAM, is frequently employed as a building block in the synthesis of various organic compounds, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and flavoring agents. It also serves as a reagent in organic reactions, particularly in carbon-carbon bond formation through malonate synthesis. Additionally, researchers are exploring the potential use of Methyl 3-oxopentanoate in developing chiral auxiliaries, compounds that aid in selectively controlling the stereochemistry of chemical reactions.Formula:C6H10O3Color and Shape:SolidMolecular weight:130.1418Methyl 3-oxopentanoate

CAS:Methyl propionylacetate is an ester compound that is produced by the reaction of methyl acetate and propionic acid. It can be synthesized using a molecular modeling technique and a solid catalyst. The asymmetric synthesis of methyl propionylacetate was conducted in order to produce an experimental model for the synthesis of carboxylic acid esters. The isolated yield is 82% and the nmr spectral data show that it has a molecular weight of 148.2 g/mol, with two signals observed at δ 3.81 (1H) and δ 4.30 (1H). Molecular modeling studies indicate that methyl propionylacetate has a planar structure with three stereocenters and a boiling point of 104°C. The triazole antifungal properties of methyl propionylacetate may be due to its ability to act as a nucleophile in reactions with chloride ions, forming aziridines through nucleophilic attack on
