CAS:4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenol is an inorganic acid that is used as a solvent and a chemical intermediate. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of human liver diazonium salt, which is involved in the metabolism of amino acids, fatty acids, and carbohydrates. 4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenol also inhibits the metabolism of propionate by inhibiting the enzyme propionate kinase. The inhibition of this enzyme leads to an accumulation of propionate in urine samples. 4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenol has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. This may be due to its ability to inhibit serotonin reuptake, which causes an increase in serotonin levels in blood platelets and neutrophils, which decreases inflammation caused by these cells.
