It is a natural product inhibitor of β-Ketoacyl-AcpM Synthase A (KasA). It inhibits the synthesis of mycolic acid which is a major cell wall component of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Also an inhibitor of D-Aspartate oxidase (DDO).
