CAS:Cefazedone is an inorganic acid that has been used as an antimicrobial agent. It is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water and practically insoluble in organic solvents. Cefazedone has been shown to have excellent bactericidal activity against many urinary tract infections, including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter species, Proteus mirabilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This drug has also been shown to have good activity against pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. Cefazedone does not show any adverse effects on human serum or urine samples from healthy volunteers. Toxicological studies on rats showed no evidence of toxicity or teratogenicity due to cefazedone.
